An increasing number of our students are coming out as transgender or non-binary, but these students have always existed in our classrooms. It is essential for all of our students that staff are familiar with the relevant vocabulary and prepared to discuss gender issues when they arise in the classroom. Many teachers feel that the learning curve is high - in this workshop we will practice answering sample questions without judgement and create a safe space for reflections on our answers, all with the goal of ultimately creating a safer Bedford Public Schools.
