This will be a presentation based off a professional development we attended with Lynn Lyons, a clinician who works with students, families, and schools around the country. Participants will be given an overview of anxiety--focusing on how it works in the brain and physiologically in the body. We will discuss some common traps parents and teachers can fall into when managing anxious students. Time will be given to reflect and share some more helpful strategies teachers can employ in their classrooms to support anxious students.
